New post for distance education project officer, working with us!

A new post has just been advertised, and as the deadline is fairly tight we’d appreciate you letting people know about it! The closing date is 12 October.

The post will be for 1 year in the first instance, working closely with the MSc in E-learning programme, and other programmes in the School of Education, to:

assist in the planning for the development of a number of new online distance programmes.  The purpose of the post is to assist colleagues, and to provide day-to-day coordination of a project within the School of Education, funded by the University’s Distance Education Initiative, to explore the feasibility of bringing one or more Masters level programme plans forward for further funding and development.

All the details and application information here:

Option course application form

The link to the option course application form has changed – this now links to our programme-wide Moodle course, and has a form for January 2013 courses. If you find that you don’t have access to the form, or have any problems with it, please let me know – . You can apply for January courses whenever you like, but we’ll be sending out an invitation for you to do so in late October/early November.

If you are hoping to enrol for a course this semester (Semester 1), you’ll need to contact either the tutor or me directly to discuss this.

Academic Writing Group

Hello everyone and hope you are having a great week 1 day 1 🙂

I would like to bring your attention to the Academic Writing Group on the Hub (link here). Basically, this group is born out of the first Academic Writing Summer School held last July and tutored by Dr. Christine Sinclair.

The group aims to serve as a place where we can share our ideas, concerns, strategies and pieces of academic writing.

Hope you will join us in the group 🙂
