University online community

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to put together an asynchronous community building activity (mid-March) for all online learners across the University and I wondered whether anyone would like to help brainstorm a few ideas and create a small landing site to bring together activity on different platforms, e.g. googlemaps, twitter etc.

If you’re interested, drop me an email – s0679873@sms.ed.ac.uk

Thanks! πŸ™‚

*Online event* – What’s University for?

Monday 8 October 2012
Online Collaborate session (5.30-7.00pm) and Twitter discussions (from now!)

Building on the successful β€˜What’s the University For?’ (on-campus) series, this event is an opportunity to discuss hopes for our time as online students at the University of Edinburgh. Through a mix of peer-led online conversations on collaborate and twitter, we will discuss (but not exclusively):

– What do we want from our University?
– What do we want for our University?
– How do we enable these to happen?

This is the first online, University-wide DEI event, so it’ll be great to get as many ODL students involved as possible! πŸ™‚

How to get involved:

Follow the hashtag and join the conversation now – #whatuni4
Join our online room on Monday @ 5.30-7.00pm (BST) – https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?sid=2011426&password=M.29BF44780A663B8C2C86E75CD33F8F
(… or do a bit of both!)
