Help with research!

To all the students doing the Intro to Digital Environments

Dear All

Hope you’re enjoying the course:-) As you might already know the final IDEL assignment might be submitted in alternative formats, e.g. as a video essay or a hypertext. If you are thinking of designing a multimodal assignment, perhaps you would like to contribute to my dissertation project? My intention is to examine the processes and practices of designing a multimodal assignment (the working title is:  Multimodality – Destruction or Deconstruction of Academic Discourse? Students’ Perspective).

I’m looking for 3 – 5 volunteers who would like to engage with the task on a deeper level by means of reflection on designing process (this means answering a few emails with prompt questions while composing the assignment). At a later stage, after submitting, I will ask you to take me on a virtual tour ’round your assignment space’.

If you’d like to know more about the project (and participate in it), please get in touch. My email address is annarolinska@yahoo.co.uk (some preliminary info can be already found on the project website: http://towardmultimodality.weebly.com – work in progress though).

I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

E-books, e-textbooks, multimedia in education – help!

Hi there

As part of a EU-funded project, I’ve got a group of Polish educators coming at the end of May. The project explores the use of e-textbooks and so we are looking for individuals and organisations in Edinburgh that would be interested in sharing their experience in using e-textbooks, e-books and broadly understood multimedia is the teaching process (preferably in the context of vocational education but not necessarily).

If you think you could help in any way (most probably by giving a presentation – there will be some money for that) or know somebody who could, please send me an email: annarolinska@yahoo.co.uk If you’d like to know more about the project, get in touch too 🙂

Best

Ania
