Christmas party in Second Life?

Had a great time at the Virtual Graduation day and got to see some ‘old’ friends but made me think about all the other people on the MSc course whom I haven’t met and lots of people I haven’t seen for a while. I suggested to ‘Frank’ (Fiona L) that we had an SL Christmas party and she advised me to post here.

Anyone fancy a get together?  We could dress up….!  Christmassy outfits and perhaps you expert SL builders could decorate an area of Holyrood Park with snow, holly etc?  Be lovely to get to know people across the course?

Could people suggest a day/evening in the week beginning 13th December?

  1. Love the idea, Noreen. I am free all that week (December 13th) so anytime is good for me. Next year (or even this one, time considering), we should even consider a gift exchange for anyone who wanted to participate. A physical gift from a virtual world. Draw a name and get a gift for a small amount.

  2. Thursday not good for me as picking up daughter from university. Wednesday 15th Dec evening would be good but could do Fri 17th Dec afternoon at a pinch.

Could we use the cafe area in Holyrood Park? Anyone good at making stuff in SL – Christmas trees etc?!

  3. Hi All:

I would be happy to be at the party. Thursday and Friday are not good for me. Monday to Wednesday are fine. Remember that I’m not in your time zone and I don’t have snow. That means the decorations would have to factor that in too:-)!

  4. once a date is decided on I can definitely place down some Christmas trees and decorations. a few years back on our “old acre” we had lots of decorations so I can place them down again – can even render snow!!!

  5. Oops – forgot to log in!

  6. Looks like Mon 13th December, 7 – 8 p.m or longer if people want, would be good for the party then? Is that okay Fiona, in terms of decorating the area?

Don’t forget to get yourself a Christmas hat or outfit – I’ll see if there’s any free places for stuff and let you all know!
