Some of you may have received an email from the University about Innovative Learning Week (ILW), which is happening for the first time this year, and is being held this week in locations around the campus and beyond. Many programmes are suspending “normal” teaching, but our week 6 activities (innovative as they always are!) will take place as scheduled – see your particular course site for full details.
The special e-learning seminar that’s taking place on Tuesday 21st in Second Life was deliberately timed to co-incide with ILW. Please join us if you can – three of our alumni will be talking about their work and research since completing the programme. There will be virtual champagne and sushi, in a lovely and welcoming setting. All are welcome, including friends and colleagues from beyond the programme.
You may also notice a few other goodies this week – not least the tweeting of a “manifesto for teaching online” – full details at http://www.education.ed.ac.uk/swop/manifesto.html
Great event – thanks Jen, Marshall and, of course, our fab speakers, Dennis, Jeremy and Mike!
I’ve uploaded some pics from the event to https://plus.google.com/photos/105882199966623991972/albums/5711702801646648993
Fabulous – thanks, Clara. It was a brilliant event, and the talks were first-rate. We hope to be able to post up a video recording – will let everyone know when this is available.
hi Jen
just to say I really enjoyed the SL event. Great fun and I was left with a feeling I have been there physically too 🙂
thanks, Gina
